Having reluctantly had to go back to work in between Christmas and New Year I was trying to decide whether to stay in London or retreat back to the quiet of the countryside for New Years Eve. The party gods were calling but in the end I decided a long weekend in the country was too good an opportunity to miss. I arrived home to a warm house and a home cooked meal, my lovely parents and what was to be a quiet night in. It was by no means glamorous but perfect all the same. We ate panettone and had a Greys Anatomy marathon and watched the fireworks on tv at midnight, a relaxed end to a hectic 2015.
It is New Years Day and I woke up early this morning and went for a walk around the farm surrounding my house. It was a cold and frosty morning, a beautiful and crisp start to what I hope will be a very happy 2016.
